Police: 2 Station Men Burglarized Sayville Homes

Suffolk police arrested two Lennox Road men after witnesses saw them in the area of home robberies.

Suffolk police say two Huntington Station men for burglaries in Sayville.

A witness observed two men acting suspiciously while walking on Durham Avenue in Sayville, and saw them enter a vehicle. The witness called police, providing them with the license plate number, and it was determined the vehicle had been reported stolen.

A short time later, other witnesses saw the same two men, Irak Colon and Ruben Santana, both of 96 Lennox Road, jump over a fence and run from the vicinity of a home on Bohemia Parkway, Sayville. A police unit that was patrolling the area located the suspects, who were detained with the assistance of area residents. An investigation revealed the home on Bohemia Parkway had been burglarized.

Colon, 26, was charged with two counts of Burglary 2nd Degree, one count of Criminal Possession Stolen Property 4th Degree and two counts of Attempted Burglary 2nd Degree. Santana, 19, was charged with two counts of Burglary 2nd Degree and one count of Criminal Possession Stolen Property 4th Degree.

Both will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on June 9.
