More than a year ago, King Kullen rolled out a nutrition scoring system called NuVal to help customers make healthier choices when grocery shopping.
Items are ranked from 1 to 100, with 1 being the lowest nutritional value and 100 being the highest. Not surprisngly, cookies and sweetened beverages rank low, while fresh produce ranka high. And certain products within a categoery – breads, for instance – rank higher than others.
Which leads to the question: Are you aware of this rating system? If so, do you find it helpful?
