Services for Douglas Brown

Huntington resident, 53, battled Parkinson's.

Douglas Wheeler Brown, 53, of Huntington died Friday after a four-year battle with Parkinsonism. He was 53 years old.

Born April 15, 1959 in New London, Conn., Brown grew up in Niantic, Conn. After graduating from Philips Exeter Academy, he earned his A.B. from Brown University and his J.D. from Tulane University Law School.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Brown, siblings Bruce Brown and Priscilla Vesce, his wife, Elaine, and children Nathaniel, Alexandra, and Ian Brown.

Visitation is set for Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at M. A. Connell Funeral Home Inc., Huntington Station.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Adele Smithers Parkinson Disease Treatment Center at the New York Institute of Technology, or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
