Richard Lopman, 80, Dies

Former Huntington resident was Navy veteran.

Richard Lopman, age 80, a former resident of Huntington, died Thursday at West Palm Hospital.

He was born in Manhattan, and lived in Huntington nearly all of his life before moving to Stuart, Fla., eight years ago.Before retiring eight years ago, he owned a marine canvas business in Huntington.

Lopman was a veteran of the Navy, serving during the Korean War.

He is survived by two sisters, Judith Miranda of Bluffton, S.C., and Adele Shubert of East Northport; brother –in-law Charles Miranda Sr.; nephews Charles Miranda Jr., Roy Miranda, Richard Miranda, Christopher Shubert; nieces Dell-Ann Benson and Nancy Connelly.

Funeral services are private and are being handled by the Yates Funeral Home of Fort Pierce.
