Leon Crain of Huntington Station Dies

Resident was retired Sachem library director.

Leon Crain, who was a member of the Senior Center and a resident of Huntington Station, died Monday.

He was 89 years old.

Before retirement, he was director of the Sachem Public Library in Holbrook.

He was an avid outdoors photographer and a lifelong music lover.  He is survived by sons Robert and Kenneth and grandchildren Daniel, Jonathan and David.  His wife, Doris, died in 1990. She was the children's librarian at the Harborfields Public Library in Greenlawn.

Visitation is Thursday at A.L. Jacobsen Funeral Home from 7 to 9 pm. and Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by burial at Pinelawn Memorial Park
