John W. Edwards Dies at 64

Pennsylvania resident was a graduate of Whitman High School.

Former Huntington resident John W. "Cracker Jack" Edwards, 64, died  Nov. 17.

Edwards was a graduate of Whitman High School.

He was a resident of Hunlock Creek, Pa.

A Navy veteran of the Vietnam era, he enlisted in June 1967 and was stationed aboard the Saratoga until he was discharged in November 1970.

Jack was employed for 20 years by UGI Electric in Hunlock Creek, retiring two years ago.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, the former Katherine Ahrens, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Born Aug. 9, 1948, in Hazleton, he was a son of the late John William and Anna Morris Edwards.
