This Week: Luau at Sunset; Huntington 'Independence Day'

1. Huntington Bay Meeting: The Huntington Bay Village Board of Trustees meets Monday at 7:30 p.m. at , located at 244 Vineyard Rd.

2. Luau at Sunset: The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Luau at Sunset Wednesday at 6 p.m. Admission: $85 for members, $95 for non-members. Runs from 6-11 p.m. at Crab Meadow Beach. For more information and to register, contact the Chamber at 164 Main St. in Huntington, or call (631) 423-6100.

3. South Huntington BOE: The South Huntington Board of Education meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the for their annual summer business meeting.

4. Boy Scout Yard Sale: Huntington Troop 12 is sponsoring a multi-family yard sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at , located at 180 W. Neck Rd. in Huntington. All proceedes will go to purchasing new tents and supplies for the troop. 

5. Huntington Independence Day: Renactment of the day the Declaration of Independence arrived and was read to the public in Huntington. Events take place on the same Village Green as the original reading more than 200 years ago. Colonial era encampment, demonstrations of period life skills including cooking, sewing, hornwork, music, musket and cannon drills, children's drills. Sponsored by the Huntington Militia. Runs from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Free admission.
