This Week: Ghost Stories; Opera Night

5 things going on this week.

1. Ghost Stories of Long Island: Enjoy ghost stories by author Kerriann Flanagan Brosky. Brosky will discuss various local ghostly haunts and read select passages from her book, "Ghosts of Long Island; Stories of the Paranormal" and "Ghosts of Long Island II: More Stories of the Paranormal." The event runs Thursday at 7 p.m. at the South Huntington Public Library. Admission is free.

2. Opera Night in Huntington: This large body of professional operatic singers plus their piano accompanist present an entertaining assortment of vocal excerpts from famous and beloved operas Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at  in Huntington. Admission $10.

3. Bulesque Night: Huntington Social presents Legs Malone and her troope of fabulous dancing divas Saturday at 11 p.m. Cost is $10 which includes a libation, 21 and over.

4. Laura Hull Jazz Trio: Join acclaimed jazz vocalist Laura Hull, who returns to Grasso's on Friday. Hull presents American popular songs, jazz standards and obscure gems. No cover charge. Sow starts at 7:30 p.m. Reservations are recommended.

5. Summer Parenting Workshop Series: Moms & Dads are welcome to join our reflective discussions, receive encouragement, professional support and guidance relating to raising children and family relationships. Come meet other parents from the community to share common questions and concerns about
parenting. Wednesday at the  at 7 p.m. Admission $95.
