Pulaski Road Work Winding Down

Construction project should be completed within days.

After months of construction, a lengthy Pulaski Road construction project is expected to be wrapped up soon.

With work completed on Pulaski Road from the intersection of Oakwood Road and west to the rail tracks near County Road 11, asphalt crews were out Wednesday resurfacing areas east of New York Avenue.

"Hopefully by Friday all the paving should be done," said Barney Dimola, a traffic maintenance foreman on site with Adjo Construction. "Then they will start putting the stripes down."

Dimola said the stretch of road in Huntington Station has been under repair since October of 2011. Construction stopped in December and picked up again in March on the project, according to Dimola.

New sidewalks, curbs and drainage systems have been installed.
