Five Things Going on This Weekend

Friars Golden Kids Carnival; Paramount salutes veterans

 1. Huntington Choral Society: Hear the Brahms Requiem sung by the Huntington Choral Society celebrating their 50th anniversary at April 28 at 8 p.m. Admission is $20, students enter free.

2. Paramount Salute to Veterans: Long Island Military Veterans are welcome to a special free comedy showcase from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. officials say the show is to recognize the local military personnel for their contributions. Show features comedians Maria Walsh and Chris DiStefano. Veterans with military ID can pick up tickets at The Paramount Box Office, while supplies last.

3. Friars Golden Kids Carnival:  will be hosting its annual Friars Golden Kids Carnival for Children with Special Needs Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 500 people expected in the Student Center and School Cafeteria.

4. Vinny G In Town: Jersey Shore cast member and author Vinny G will be at the  to sign his book, "Control the Crazy: My Plan to Stop Stressing, Avoid Drama and Maintain Inner Cool," Friday at 7 p.m.

5. 'You're A Good Man Charlie Brown': Harborfields High School Theater Company presents the musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" April 27 through 29 in the Harborfields High School auditorium. Showtimes 7 p.m., except for 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday. Tickets $10.
