Suffolk Legislator Lou D’Amaro has announced that his Fall 2013 “Legislative Watch” newsletter is now available to view online.  The eco-friendly newsletter continues the County’s initiative to suspend district-wide mailings.  The latest edition includes specifics on the reconstruction of Pinelawn Road, an update on the Babylon Sewer Expansion project and photos of recent community events.

Initially passed in 2009, the legislation suspending district-wide mailings saves Suffolk County taxpayers almost $300,000 annually while reducing the waste associated with the disposal of printed materials.  Previous newsletters as well as other information of interest to Legislator D’Amaro’s constituents can be viewed online by visiting his webpage, which is accessible under “Offices” on the Suffolk County Legislature’s website http://legis.suffolkcountyny.gov/

“By continuing to suspend the printing and mailing of district-wide newsletters, the County is demonstrating its ongoing commitment to keeping costs under control,” Legislator D’Amaro said.  “This measure not only saves taxpayer money, but it also protects the environment while still providing the latest, most pertinent information to our residents. I urge my constituents to view my online newsletter and keep up-to-speed on both local community events and County news.”
