Huntington Station, NY - New York State Assembly candidate Joe Dujmic announced today that Jennifer Maertz has been added to his growing campaign team in the 10th Assembly District.
Ms. Maertz, a practicing insurance litigation attorney, ran for New York State Senate in eastern Suffolk in 2010. Despite entering that race late in the campaign cycle, Ms. Maertz made a strong challenge to an entrenched incumbent -- her vote total was in the top four of the 17 races the incumbent has run over three decades.
"Jennifer Maertz brings considerable experience not only as a volunteer on a number of political campaigns, but as a former candidate herself," said Dujmic. "I am excited to have someone of her caliber and energy on our team as we make a push towards victory on Election Day."

I want to work with a candidate who has a vision for the future, and I know Joe will work tirelessly on behalf of the people of Huntington and Babylon," said Ms. Maertz, who was previously a Vice-Chair of the Brookhaven Town Democratic Committee.
Dujmic, who announced his candidacy in February, has detailed a comprehensive platform centered upon property tax relief, economic growth and job creation through small business assistance, government reform, addressing school aid inequity and protecting the environment.
Ms. Maertz is a volunteer board member of the North Shore Youth Council, a trustee in her community civic association and a founding member of East End Democratic Women, an organization dedicated to women seeking leadership positions and public office.
Joe Dujmic (pronounce Dudge-mick) is a private practice attorney and small business owner based in the Town of Huntington. A graduate of St. Johns University (criminal justice) and New York Law School (juris doctor) the native Long Islander announced his candidacy in February of this year in the 10th Assembly District.
