Register Now for Parent Academy at HHS

Huntington High School Principal Carmela Leonardi will host the school’s first Parent Academy on Wednesday, December 11. All parents with a son or daughter in grades 7-12 are invited to attend the event, which will run from 6:00 to 8:35 p.m.

“The Parent Academy is an opportunity for parents to come to Huntington High School and participate in a variety of workshops of their choice addressing adolescent’s academic, social and emotional well-being,” according to a promotional flyer for the event.

A brief informational session will be held in the auditorium from 6:00 to 6:15. Three rounds of workshop sessions will be held from 6:20-6:55 p.m.; 7:20-7:55 p.m.; 8:00-8:35 p.m. There will be a break for light refreshments from 6:55-7:15 p.m.

Parents can choose to attend three separate workshops from a list of 18 offerings ranging from “Raising Resilient Kids” and “The Business of Art” to “Tools to Help Your Child be a Better Writer,” “Friends, Responsibility and Free Time” and “Beyond Academics.” 

Transportation to and from Huntington High School will be offered to those parents who need it. There will be a shuttle service from Manor Field (La Casita) and the Station Library at 5:30; 7:00; 7:45 and 8:30 p.m.

    Parents can also register in person in the Huntington High School library, Monday through Thursday from 2:30-4:00 p.m. or on Thursday, December 4 during parent conferences at the school from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
