The J. Taylor Finley Middle School PTA is seeking new members for the 2013/14 school year. The group’s membership drive will continue through the fall until its ranks are filled. A determined effort is underway to register all teachers and as many parents as is possible.
Finley PTA membership costs $9 per year and is open to parents, grandparents, neighbors, community members and friends. Members are not required to attend meetings or volunteer for any activities. Of course, they are welcome to do those things, if they choose. Membership dollars support programs for all students.
This year’s Finley PTA is led by Julie LaBella (president), Debbie Chin (vice-president), Jeannie Dempsey (vice-president), Debbie McGinnis (recording secretary), Sue Healy (corresponding secretary), Nancy DiGiacomo (treasurer), Susan Bucholtz (historian) and PTA Council delegates Sue Gerbavsits and Betsy Giamo.
“I’m looking forward to a great year,” Mrs. LaBella said. “The PTA has a lot of new and exciting things planned. I’m also looking to a wonderful connection with our community and staff this year.”
Joining the Finley PTA is easy and can be accomplished in many different ways. A check payable to Finley PTA in the amount of $9 should be accompanied by the member’s name, address, phone number and e-mail address and can be sent into school with students, dropped off at the main office during school hours, submitted at any Finley PTA meeting or mailed to the Finley PTA at 20 Greenlawn Road, Huntington, New York 11743.
Finley PTA members that provide an e-mail address will get periodic meeting reminders and information about school related activities and events.
