2014 Huntington Football Schedule Released

The opening day kickoff is still more than five months off, but Section XI has already posted draft varsity football schedules on its website (www.sectionxi.org). The Huntington Blue Devils will begin the 2014 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Islip at 2 p.m.

The regular season will consist of eight games, split equally between home and away contests:

• Saturday, Sept. 6                    Huntington at Islip                              2 p.m.

• Saturday, Sept. 13                  Huntington at Hauppauge                  6 p.m.

• Saturday, Sept. 20                  Miller Place at Huntington                  1:30 p.m.

• Thursday, Oct. 2                     Amityville at Huntington                    4 p.m.

• Saturday, Oct. 11                    Rocky Point at Huntington                 2 p.m.

• Saturday, Oct. 18                    Huntington at Sayville                        1:30 p.m.

• Saturday, Oct. 25                    Huntington at Eastport-South Manor   6 p.m.

• Saturday, Nov. 1                     Westhampton Beach at Huntington   1:30 p.m.

The Blue Devils’ game against Rocky Point on October 11 at 2 p.m. will be the centerpiece of Huntington High School’s Homecoming Day activities. It will include the crowning of the Homecoming king and queen during half-time festivities. A morning parade through Huntington village will precede the football game. An evening dance for students is also planned for either Thursday or Saturday. Parade floats will be constructed at the school on Friday night, October 10.
