The Party's On: Halloween in Huntington

Trick or treating, crafting are on the schedule Thursday.


Lots of places in Huntington are sponsoring Halloween parties and events for kids on Oct. 31. Here are just a few.
 
Village Parade: Parade participants gather in front of the Huntington Post Office on Gerard Street at 4 p.m. The parade will head east on Gerard Street and south down Wall Street, ending where Wall Street hits Main Street. Parents and children are welcome to join the parade in costume.

Mall Trick or Treating: Walt Whitman Shops will welcome costumed kids for mall wide Trick-or-Treating from 4 to 7 p.m. while supplies last. Families should visit Simon Guest Services to pick up a list of participating retailers.

Library Celebration: Program for youngsters age 0 to 5 years old, with caregivers; 10 a.m. or 1:30 p.m., at the Huntington Public Library. Show off costumes or stop in for a story, treat, and a special parade through the library.

Craft and Pumpkin Picking: Registration is full but there is a waiting list for the South Huntington Public Library's Halloween craft and pumpkin picking. 10-10:45 a.m., for kids 1-3 years old.

Heckscher Museum: Children in costume on Halloween will receive a special treat and can enjoy a hands-on art activity while exploring the exhibitions with their families. 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Free admission for children in costume and their families.
