'State of Community' Meeting

The Porter-Trejo Action Network Inc. is sponsoring a state of the community discussion at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Iglesia Luz De Salvacion.

Guest speakers include state Sen. Carl Marcellino (R-Syosset) and Sen. Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) along with Eric Alexander of Vision Long Island, the Rev. Andy Torres, president of the Hispanic clery of Queens and Dr. Rev. Larry Washington of Evergreen Baptist Church.

There also will be a voter registration drive in both Spanish and English.

The civic group was formed in the spring to promote legal affordable housing in Huntington Station.
