Huntington Library Budget, Trustees Vote

One candidate will be elected to a five-year term on the board of trustees at the Huntington Public Library and voters will decide on the proposed 2011-12 budget in voting at the library from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5.

Two candidates are running for one five-year term on the library's board of trustees. Incumbent Charles Rosner is seeking re-election to a full term. Also seeking the open seat is Andy Jarmolowski.

The proposed $8.7 million budget carries a 2.7% operating budget increase, which the library attributes to increases in the cost of participating in the state retirement system, the state health insurance plan and a new MTA tax.
