Frost Warning Now Until ?

I just checked the weather and we do have a frost advisory tonight.  What I find disconcerting, is that the long-range outlook calls for frost at night through  next Wednesday, the day After Earth Day !

Read it for yourself here:
http://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=NYZ078&warncounty=NYC103&firewxzone=NYZ078&local_...

So, if you were planning on cleaning out beds or transplanting seedlings, best to wait until predictions are warmer (and as you have already learned, one or two very warm days do not good planting weather make).

I do remember some April snows.  What is new to me though is this protracted
freeze/frost pattern.  I know something killed some of my newly sprouted plants last year.  But I am wondering if the long-advised "plant after April 15" no longer applies ?  I queried American Meadows about when best to transplant, and got a link that suggested April 18 was now the best date to begin.  Will this slide back too?

I am anxious to get out and dig, but will heed the warnings.
I read today that Freeze and Frost warnings are only issued during our usual
"growing seasons."  News to me, the unfarmer !

So what is happening in your gardens?  Did anything emerge before the Mercury dipped ?   Did any of your plants succumb to the freeze ?  Are you going nuts waiting too ?   Did you have to transplant seedlings Indoors ? (I may have to).
Why can't Spring just be Spring ?

Happy Easter all. Belated Passover good wishes too.  Looks like we may be needing the warm jackets for now.
