At Kehillath
Shalom Synagogue,

Every day an average of
20 American children are hospitalized for injuries caused by firearms. Another
3,000 die every year before they get to the emergency room. For people ages 15
to 19 firearm injuries are the major cause of death after car crashes.   –USA Today.

Leah Barrett Executive
Director of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence will address the question: “What
can we
do?”

NYAGV was established in
1993 by mothers galvanized by the senseless shooting death of a teacher in
Prospect Park. After the Long Island Railroad massacre in December 1993, a Nassau
County chapter was started. In 1999, a Suffolk County chapter was created.

On the list of subjects
tonight: the “Child Access Prevention” or “Safe Storage Law” and “Nicholas’s
Bill named for 12-year old Nicholas Naumkin  fatally
shot in 2010 while on a playdate.

DIRECTIONS: Take 25A West to Cold
Spring Harbor. At gas station on the curve in the road turn right onto Goose
Hill Road. K.S. Synagogue is ½ mile up on right. It’s a cedar shake colonial
with a white picket fence. Tel. 631-271-1037.
