Kiss Cancer Good-Bye Walk at Heckscher Park

Join us at the second annual Kiss Cancer Good-Bye walk on Saturday, September 28
Heckscher Park in Huntington, 11 AM - 2 PM.

Kiss Cancer Good-Bye will feature several group walks around Heckscher Pond, activities for kids with a focus on healthy living and performances from local students.

Proceeds are donated to the American Cancer Society and Kids Need More (http://kidsneedmore.org), formerly Camp Adventure.

Here's just one reason why we walk:

Frank Fogarty, who works at Gellerman Orthodontics, which has organized this event,  is one of the people behind Kiss Cancer Good-Bye.  When Frank was 5 and his brother Jon was 7, Jon was diagnosed with cancer.  That summer, both boys went to Camp Adventure, now known as Kids Need MORE on Shelter Island.  The focus of the camp is to provide children who are ill with cancer and their siblings with one week of summer fun.  This free, one week sleep-away program provided a needed respite for the boys. Twenty years later,  they both volunteer as counselors.  This summer was particularly important, as Jon celebrated his 20th anniversary of being cancer free with friends and family at the camp.

We hope you'll join us as we walk to Kiss Cancer Good-Bye!!

Register at the day of the event, pick up a registration form at Gellerman Orthodontics, or visit www.drgellerman.com for more information.
