Hammer with a Heart/Fundraiser for Karen Labarbera
This is a fundraising breakfast at Applebee's, Huntington Station on Sat. 2/8/14-8A.M.-10A.M..
The guest of honor is Karen Labarbera. She is a great friend, loving wife and wonderful mother of two. She was seriously injured when a drunk driver collided with her, on her way home from work. This took place on August 30, 2013 at the corner of Pulaski Rd. and Butterfield Drive in Greenlawn.
Karen sustained traumatic head and leg injuries and was in critical condition for months. Since then her recovery continued with several more surgeries. Though these surgeries saved her life; Karen's left leg was amputated and she lost the sight in her right eye.
Karen is home now and has extensive rehab ahead of her. Her bravery and strength is truly inspiring.
To know Karen is to instantly love her. She is a selfless woman who puts the wants and needs of others above her own. She volunteers her time and energy to make certain her family, friends and even strangers are taken care of.
My family and I wanted to help in any way that we could. But, it was my 14 year old son, who came up with the idea for this fundraiser. An inspired teenager! I couldn't be prouder.
Join us for a Flapjack Fundraiser, enjoy a delicious breakfast while donating to a great cause and an extraordinary woman. $10.00 per person pays ALL! There will be some great raffle prizes too. Just in time for Valentine's Day. See you there!
