Halesite Fire Department Fire Prevention Open House

Halesite Fire Department will hold its annual Fire Prevention Open House on Sunday, October 6th from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. at the Halesite firehouse, One North New York Avenue, Halesite, NY.

Chief Dan McConnell has arranged for numerous live demonstrations including fire evacuation instructions for children using our smoke house, effective use of extinguishers with live fire, instructions on how to avoid kitchen fires, how to perform hands-only CPR, plus tours of the firehouse, tours of our apparatus and more.

Just as in years past, this year’s open house will be a great time for residents of the community and their children to learn more about fire prevention and to meet some of the men and women who volunteer as firefighters or EMT’s.  There will be free refreshments, contests and prizes for the kids and adults.

This year, we will be handing out free combination carbon monoxide/smoke detectors to Halesite Fire District residents along with information about their use and proper placement. We recommend reserving your detector in advance on our website.
