Manga Drawing Reception at Huntington Public Library

Teens Connect with Anime & Manga at Huntington Public Library’s Station Branch

See the artwork, congratulate the teen artists and enjoy refreshments at the Manga Drawing Reception. For more information, please call Beth Barning at 631-427-5165 ext. 236 or Mary Kelly at 631-421-5053 ext. 126.

The Anime Manga Drawing Workshop was born at Huntington Public Library when teens requested it over and over again. When Mallory Coronado joined the library staff, with training in animation and an interest in working with teens, she jumped at the opportunity to share her talent and get their creative juices flowing. She now counts six to thirteen teens attending her class regularly each week. “On Thursday evenings we gather with sketchbooks, and manga. The teens have a great time talking about their favorite shows, and nowadays anything that sparks their interest. They also bring in their sketchbooks to show everyone, getting positive feedback and critiques... Newcomers are always welcomed and encouraged."
