Candidate Forums Set

Town, county legislative seats on the November ballot.

Candidates on the November ballot will get a chance to pitch their views at forums scheduled in the coming weeks.

First up is an Oct. 9 forum at the Elwood Middle School Auditorium, 100 Kenneth Ave. in Greenlawn.The Greater Huntington Civic Group said all candidates for Town Board, supervisor, highway superintendent and two Suffolk County Legislative districts, the 17th and the 18th, have been invited to participate.  The session starts at  7 p.m.

And the Suffolk branch of the League of Women Voters has scheduled two sessions, one Oct. 21 for candidates for supervisor, Town Board and highway superintendent. The second is Oct. 8 for Suffolk County legislative candidates. After the Oct. 28 session, the league will discuss a referendum on the consolidation of the county departments of treasurer and comptroller. Both league sessions are scheduled for the Harborfields Public Library, with a 7 p.m. starting time.

The election is Nov. 5.
