As I move through new changes within Ms. Eleanor’s Apples, I am becoming more and more excited about the new possibilities. Let me tell you a little bit about how Ms. Eleanor’s Apples came to be. I was working for an agency at a local school district. Some of my students were having difficulty learning how to sign their name in cursive. I was not working with these students to learn how to write in cursive, but only to develop a signature for important documents and checks. I developed “Letter Trails” which worked for some students but not others. Then one day, I had an idea! Take Letter Trails and put them in a frame. What frame was the dilemma. I thought long and hard, finally, it hit me! The apple was the key. If I cut an apple open and used the anatomy of the apple, I could get my students to write the letters correctly. It worked and so I began using apples as a tool for writing cursive. The handwriting became Ms. Eleanor’s Apples and there you have it!
