Schools Opening 2 Hours Late

Both Huntington and South Huntington schools are opening two hours late today because of the snow. Huntington has a change in bus stop locations because of the wather. See its Inclement Bus Stop Modification.

The Huntington district says tonight's HFEE gala benefit is on schedule.

And the Developmental Disabilities Institute is maintaining a regular schedule.

The snow was expected to end by mid-morning but authorities are warning about extremely cold weather later tonight.

Streets are slippery though snow accumulations are light.

Meanwhile, The Long Island Water Conference (LIWC) is asking homeowners to keep fire hydrants clear. The buildup of snow can block access and endanger firefighting efforts.
