Lessons on Love, Power & Style, Board of Education Meeting

Dec. 6: 5 Things You Need to Know Today

 1. New York Times bestselling author Pamela Keogh will be at tonight at 7 p.m. to sign her new book , "Are You a Jackie or a Marilyn? Timeless Lessons on Love, Power and Style," which takes a look at the age old stereotypes of "The Sexy Blonde" and "The Brainy Brunette."   Keogh offers insider tips and gossip as she takes a look at the public and private lives of these women and who they really were. 

2. has organized a toy drive to benefit . When you're out doing your holiday shopping, why not pick up something extra and drop it off at their office at 75 New St.? Toys of Hope is a year-round organization that provides everyday essentials, such as new bedding, towels, clothing and shoes to families in need. This organization relies solely on volunteers and 100% of all funds contributed go toward helping needy and homeless children, their families and their pets. Donations are being accepted until Dec. 22.  

3. The will be hosting its 5th Annual Nursery School Fair tonight from 6-8 pm. If your little one is getting ready to take that first step out into the world, this is an opportunity to meet and speak with nursery school representatives to find out about their school and their philosophies so you can find the best match for your child. This event is open to all parents and caregivers.

 4. The will meet tonight at Town Hall from 7-9 pm for the 4th Annual Youth Forum. Students from 10 local high schools have been invited to participate in discussions about issues affecting young people, including recent incidents of gang violence, cyberbullying and drug and alcohol use. Students will also be encouraged to speak about other issues that are important to them. For more information call the Town Council at 631-351-3018.
