Last Chance: Women's History Event

Film screening of "The Last Fix" at the Cinema Arts Centre Tuesday.

We've seen hundreds of events come and go in the community, but how often does one pass you by that you wish you hadn't missed out on? That's where we come in. Each week Huntington Patch will post a quick reminder about the events, activities or important tasks whose deadlines have come.

With just a few days left in March, this could be your last chance to enjoy a unique Women’s History Month presentation at the . The documentary will be followed by an interactive discussion with three exceptional Long Island women.

Co-presented by the Women’s Fund of Long Island,  brings the viewer through a journey with convicted drug offenders who opt for a tough and pioneering drug court on the East End of Long Island rather than prison. Jacquie Gettling, one of our 2011 Women Achievers Against the Odds honorees, is featured in the film and will be in Huntington to share her powerful message. 

Admission is $10 for members, $15 for guests. Reception begins at 6 p.m. Tickets available at Cinema Arts Centre Box Office, or by calling (800) 838-3006.
