Changed by 9/11: Frank Esposito

Frank Esposito says 9/11 taught the true value of human life and need for global peace.

The events of Sept. 11 brought people together by teaching them the value of human life and the importance of spreading peace. That's what Huntington resident Frank Esposito says.

“It made people come together from all diverse situations. Made us all help out as one.”

He said 9/11 taught people that any huge tragedy affects us together as a community and allows people to see the true value behind the gift of life.

“The impact is that as a society, we are a whole,” said Esposito. “I think the major impact of something tragic as this is that it brings to the forefront how sacred human life is.”

He said he believes people must work together to prevent and minimize the impacts of other disasters. He said people’s aim should be to instill peace and reduce tension among other cultures worldwide.

“If neighbors, communities, cities, and all countries could work together every day to strive for peace, that’s the direction we need to go so we don’t expect tragedy like this again,” said Esposito. “So we can build memorials for peace.”
