Lupinacci Rallies In Support Of Sagamore Children's Psychiatric Center

Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,WF,I-Huntington Station) joined supporters of the Sagamore Children's Psychiatric Center to rally to keep the facility operating in its current form. The Office of Mental Health (OMH) has put forth a proposal that would end inpatient treatment.

“As a society, we have a responsibility to provide quality mental health services to those in need, especially the children,” said Lupinacci. “The Sagamore Children's Psychiatric Center in Dix Hills has a long history of providing quality and accessible care to many of Long Island’s children who are suffering from psychological issues. Unfortunately, the proposal put forth by OMH would be detrimental to the long-term health of our young people and our community. The faculty and staff at Sagamore are an integral part of our community, and I will continue to work to ensure the facility remains open and thriving, and to ensure that all alternative avenues are explored to best serve the needs of our children, OMH and the staff at Sagamore.”
