Lupinacci Calls Shed The Meds A Success

On Saturday, Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,WF,I-Huntington Station) hosted a Shed the Meds Program with the Suffolk County Police Department. The event was a huge success, collecting at least 40 pounds of unwanted and outdated prescription medication with many local residents taking advantage of the program to discard unwanted medication in a safe and environmentally sustainable way.

“I was incredibly pleased to see the number of residents who took part in this weekend’s event and helped make our community a safer place,” said Lupinacci. “Over time, we all end up with some outdated medication in the cabinet. Unfortunately, these can become dangerous and abused if they fall in to the wrong hands. Fortunately, events like this weekend’s are a great opportunity to dispose of these medications safely. Thanks to Officer Ward, and the Suffolk County Police Department for their help making the event a success.”
