Says top issues for 2013 will be growing economy, cutting taxes and reforming school aid.
Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,WF,I- Huntington Station) took his oath of office Tuesday morning surrounded by his family, friends and supporters. After ringing in the New Year, the oath was administered by Huntington Town Councilman Mark Mayoka. Lupinacci was elected to replace Jim Conte, who represented Huntington in the State Assembly for 24 years.
“Serving the people of Huntington is a tremendous honor and privilege,” said Lupinacci. “I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to deliver real results for Long Islanders. We need to come together to tackle the very serious issues that face our communities, from burdensome property taxes, to growing jobs and expanding our economy and establishing an equitable school aid formula.”
“Assemblyman Conte was a tremendous friend and mentor who left a lasting imprint on our community and I hope to continue his legacy as a strong voice for the hardworking people of Huntington,” concluded Lupinacci.
Assemblyman Lupinacci is a professor at Farmingdale State College, where he teaches classes in Business Law; an adjunct professor of Political Science at Saint Joseph’s College and Hofstra University; a practicing attorney and former Trustee of the South Huntington Union Free School District.
