Tilden Brakes Nearing Full Return
Shop devastated by fire could reopen its garage next week.
The Tilden Brakes shop on New York Avenue, devastated by a fire in July, is counting the days until its building at 800 New York Ave. is fully operational.
Standing in the rebuilt garage where the fire broke out, Tom Montefusco said Tuesday that though work remains to be done, he hopes everything will be up and running by next week.
The Huntington Station business has carried on, thanks to the help of other shops which shared lift space, but the family is eager to get all of its operations functioning again.
