Panera Opens on Main Street

Newest village restaurant also offers wi-fi, community room.

Panera Bread came to Huntington Monday, opening its doors at 345 W. Main Street.

It is the 23rd bakery-cafe on Long Island.

On hand to greet patrons and welcome the store were several officials, including  Town Supervisor Frank Petrone, Town Clerk Jo-Ann Raia, Councilmen Mark Mayoka and Mark Cuthbertson, Councilwoman Susan Berland and Suffolk County Legislator William Spencer.

 Panera said the new restaurant created 60 jobs and gives local residents and shoppers a fresh alternative for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bakery-cafe opens at 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday (7 a.m. on Sunday), will remain open until 10 p.m. (9 p.m. Sunday) and 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.  

The restaurant offers free wi-fi service and a large community room that can be reserved for free by clubs, groups and organizations looking for a convenient place to meet. Catering is also available for local businesses as well as for large or small groups.
