Northport Woman Receives Top Promotion in PR

Kathleen Caputi rises to Vice President of noted Long Island Firm.

Northport resident Kathleen Caputi was recently promoted to vice president of Epoch 5, one of Long Island's most noted PR Firms.

“Kathleen’s strategic counsel, media relationships and superior writing skills,
combined with her enthusiasm and genuine concern for her clients, add immeasurable value to the Epoch 5 team,” Epoch 5 President Katherine Heaviside said in a statement Monday.

Caputi previously served as director of business development at Epoch 5, managing a variety of accounts, primarily professional services and their related industry organizations and residential and commercial real estate clients. She has also provided publicity for grand openings, special events, not for profits and educational institutions.

In 2008, Caputi won three industry awards for Epoch 5, including a MarCom Gold for her work on “Welcome Aboard: A History of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s
International Realty,” an 85th anniversary book for Daniel Gale Sotheby’s. She acted as project manager, writer and art director for the 175-page coffee table book that chronicles the growth of the Daniel Gale Sotheby’s organization and the local and national forces that shaped real estate on Long Island throughout the 20th century.

Caputi has written and managed projects for a wide variety of clients in professional services including law, accounting and architecture, and such industries as real estate, telecommunications, entertainment, cosmetics and fitness. Her knowledge of the business and trade media allows her to place clients in directly targeted media as well as collateral publications, both online and in print.

Prior to joining Epoch 5 in 2004, Caputi spent 15 years at Cablevision Systems Corporation, where she managed the company’s internal communications.

She is involved in a number of community projects, including the Huntington-based Roberta's Hope Foundation, which provides support for breast cancer patients and their families. She also volunteers her time to the Huntington Interfaith Homeless Initiative.
