Nail Salon to Move In to Former Diner

Restaurant in New York Avenue closed in 2009.

A high-end nail salon and spa are moving into a diner on New York Avenue that closed in 2009.

Documents identify the new owner as Jae Won Kang  from Douglaston. He is working to obtain permits for the new business, which is just north of the Home Depot center. New permits include construction and change of use.

Plywood fencing surrounds the site of the former Cooke's Inn, which was the Colonial Diner before that. As Cooke's, it was best known for its chicken, according to online reviews.

A sign on the front indicates the name of the new business is  J. Lee Nail J. Lee Spa.

The sale of the property was handled by Effie Bifulco of Signature Premier Properties.
