Mall Seeks Hundreds to Fill Jobs

Whitman Shops looking for workers in current and developing stores and restaurants.

Walt Whitman Shops is hosting a day-long job fair Wednesday, with retailers planning to hire hundreds of workers.

Hiring are both longtime tenants of the mail several that haven't yet opened their doors to the public.

Among the more than 25 employers participating in the job fair are:
 A / X Armani Exchange, Anthropologie, BCBG MaxAzria, Brighton Collectibles, Brio Tuscan Grille, Brooks Brothers, Brookstone, C.Wonder, Coach, CUPS Frozen Yogurt, Hanna Andersson, J.Crew, Le Creuset, Lord & Taylor, Microsoft, Pandora, Saks Fifth Avenue, Soma Intimates, Sophie Reese, Steve Madden, The Cheesecake Factory, Things Remembered, Tourneau, Violets Blue, West Elm, Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar, Walt Whitman Shops Guest Services and more.

The mall said that fair is free and open to the public. Candidates should attend prepared with a current resume and ready to meet prospective employers, who will conduct one-on-one screenings.

"Our ultimate goal with hosting the Job Fair is to make connections between our stores and restaurants, both existing and coming soon, and job seekers on Long Island looking for a future in the retail and restaurant industries,” commented Nancy Gilbert, director of mall marketing and business development for Walt Whitman Shops.

The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
