Mall Fair to Boost Heart Health Campaign

Feb. 23 fair is part of a Paint the Mall Red effort at Whitman Shops.

A health and wellness campaign is set for Walt Whitman Shops, part of Simon Property Group's efforts to support American Heart Month.

The health fair is part of Simon's Paint the Mall Red campaign and is set Feb. 23 at Walt Whitman Shops and 165 other Simon Properties.

The event, presented with Island Vein Specialists and GEM Magazine LI, will take place from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Center Court and offer participants a wealth of information from exhibitors including St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center, WomenHeart, Katmar & Associates, North Shore Eye Care and many more.

Participants can pick up a guide to the expo at Guest Services; the first 100 to do so also will receive a free goodie bag.

Heart disease is the No. 1 health threat to women in the United States. Shoppers can purchase the Simon From the Heart Giftcard at the Guest Services counter at Walt Whitman Shops. For every Simon From the Heart Giftcard sold, Simon will give $1 to the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) in support of The Heart Truth® Campaign, a national campaign for women about heart disease, which is sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.

The Simon From the Heart Giftcard is available in denominations ranging from $20 to $500, with an upfront purchase price of $3.95 per card, and is replaceable for free if lost or stolen.

“We’re thrilled to be able to participate in the Simon Paint the Mall Red celebration,” said Nancy Gilbert, director of marketing and business development for Walt Whitman Shops. “We encourage local shoppers to purchase a From the Heart Giftcard during February and to come to the mall for our Health and Wellness Expo.”

In addition, one shopper nationally will win a prize package through Simon’s “What’s Not to Love?” sweepstakes, which runs during the month of February.  This enter-to-win prize package includes the choice of a designer dress worn in The Heart Truth Red Dress Collection Fashion Show in New York City during Fashion Week.  The winner will select from a Badgley Mischka dress (size 4) worn by Jennie Garth in the 2009 Red Dress Collection or a Tadashi Shoji dress (size 12) worn by Raven Symone in the 2010 Red Dress Collection.

The winner will also receive a three-day, two-night trip to Los Angeles to see Andrea Bocelli perform songs from his Jan. 29 release “Passione” at the Hollywood Bowl on June 8, along with a collection of 10 previously released Andrea Bocelli CDs and a $250 Simon From the Heart Giftcard. Air transportation, hotel and car service to the concert are included.

Shoppers may enter to win in a number of different ways including text Red 74666, on-mall entry forms turned into the Walt Whitman Shops’ Guest Services area.  See official rules including all available means of entry at www.simon.com/whatsnottolove

“Paint the Mall Red gives our properties the opportunity to promote healthy living and heart disease prevention among women, all in an environment they know and love – their local Simon mall,” said Lisa Bennett, assistant vice president at Simon Property Group.

They do have the metal inside and they are all the same size. If you are seriously interested I willRead More gladly send you some more pictures. As far as the price, the best I can do is a bundle. Maybe 4 for $100 or 2 for $60. They were looked at by a store owner who wanted to purchase and sell in her store for $50 each. They are very cute, very trendy :)

Do they have the metal inside that held the glass bottles? Are they different sizes? It's hard toRead More tell from the pic. I would definitely buy 2 or 3 but, I wouldn't be able to pay 40.00 each. 20-25 each I can do. Thanks, Karen

I would love to become part of the Huntington Chamber of Commerce. However, for a new business itRead More is costly and may not fit into every new business owners budget. May I suggest a provisional 1-year membership at a reduced cost. Once successful the provisional members can give back by supporting other new members.
