King Kullen Executive Joins Board

Huntington native to serve as a Family Service League board director.

Family Service League has named James A. (AJ) Johnston to its board of directors  Karen Boorshtein, president and chief executive officer of the social services organization said Friday.

Johnston, a Huntington native and current resident of Long Island City, is director of real estate for King Kullen Grocery Co., Inc. During his career he has held various positions in the real estate industry throughout New York with both Fortune 500 Companies and private ventures. He received his Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and History from Boston College and a Master of Business Administration from Fordham University with concentrations in Finance and International Management.

“AJ brings an extraordinary level of experience to our Board of Directors,” said Ms. Boorshtein. “His skills will greatly enhance an already well-rounded board, each member bringing a different dimension of experience in helping Family Service League address the critical issues faced by the families and individuals we serve everyday.”
