Honoring Young Professionals

Huntington Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the 3rd Annual Celebrate Long Island's Young Professionals Award

Laura Fisher was only 24 in 2009 when she was recognized by the at the first "Celebrate Long Island's Young Professionals"  - an awards program that showcases the top young professionals under the age of 30 on Long Island.

Now in its third year, this annual event honors 30 individuals who are chosen for their  commitment, talent and philanthropic spirit within Long Island's business and civic communities.

Now working in events and client relations at Ferrari Maserati of Long Island, Fisher said that adding the achievement to her resume gave her a big boost when she applied for her current job. "That was something that really stood out," she said. "They were very impressed that I had received this recognition at such a young age."

She recalled that an added benefit was the opportunity to meet a number of top Long Island business leaders, as well as the other recipients on the night that the awards were presented.

The chamber is accepting nominations for young professionals within the private, public, government and not-for-profit sectors for the 2011 "Celebrate Long Island's Young Professionals" awards. Everyone is encouraged to participate, and nominees do not need to be a member of the Chamber.
