Wines for Barbecue.....

For most Americans a backyard cookout means it’s beer time. But a glass of wine can be the perfect accompaniment to all sorts of barbecue fare. It’s not so filling as beer... nor so potentially embarrassing as multiple margaritas! We've got a variety of wines, from a dry, fragrant rosé to a rich tempranillo, to pair with every type of barbecue. Whether you prefer your meats and veggies grilled, smoked, or in a spicy marinade, a selection from our list will surely compliment your favorite dish.

Join us this Holiday weekend as we taste some of our staff favorites that pair exceedingly well with barbecue.... Gourmet cheeses will be served.

Saturday 2 - 5pm.....

2010 La Fleur du Roi Bordeaux Blanc, France
Crisp, intensely aromatic whites with high acidity, especially sauvignon blanc, work very well with grilled flavors. It’s great with grilled vegetables and shrimp, and is an excellent match for tomatoes. This is a beautiful sauvignon bursting with grapefruit, lime and fresh herbs up front, melon flavors add fullness and body with just a touch of minerality.

2009 Gilles Ferran “Les Sablieres” Cotes du Rhone, France
Rhone Syrah/Grenache Blends tend to have a smokier flavor characteristic lending themselves extremely well to grilled meats - and in particular smoked brisket. This is a particularly expressive Cotes du Rhone  with medium-full body, rich aromas and flavors of black raspberry, black cherry, cassis, spice and mineral notes. The finish is long and complex.  Perfect for BBQ ribs, steaks, burgers and grilled vegetables.

2009 Old Parcel Zinfandel, Lodi, California
