Dairy Queen to Open Huntington Location Next Year

A good kind of "Blizzard" is coming to town.

Dairy Queen's Long Island rebirth is coming to Suffolk County next year–or more specifically, to Huntington.

According to the New York Real Estate Journal, Dairy Queen Grill and Chill has leased the currently vacant property at 321 West Jericho Turnpike, right around the block from Walt Whitman High School.

The lease was negotiated by Breslin Realty Development Corp., which also negotiated a deal last year in Massapequa for the first new Dairy Queen location on Long Island since the 1970s.

"We are so excited to come to Huntington!," Long Island DQ wrote on its Facebook page recently. "We are hoping for a spring 2015 opening."

The Massapequa Dairy Queen restaurant opened last July. A Levittown location is also coming soon.
