Ventura to Talk About JFK Assassination

Author to talk about book on assassination conspiracies.

The 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy is coming up and that is bringing out authors and others to talk about the tragedy.

Jesse Ventura, former wrestler and former governor of Minnesota, will appear at Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington on Oct. 5 to discuss his book, "They Killed Our President: 63 Reasons to Believe There Was a Conspiracy to Assassinate JFK."

Kennedy was assassinated Nov. 22, 1963 as his motorcade drove through Dallas. Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested by the Dallas police but he was shot to death two days later by Jack Ruby.

Since then, numerous conspiracy theories blaming the Mafia, Cuban leader Fidel Castro, the CIA and others have proliferated.

Cinema Arts cites a 2003 Gallop Poll, reporting that 75 per cent of Americans believe some kind of conspiracy occurred.

The reception is set for 2 p.m.
