If music matters more than carnival rides or facepainting, then the eclectic lineup at this weekend's Long Island Fall Festival should keep you entertained.
A battle of the bands gets underway at 6:45 p.m. Friday, 15 minutes after the festival's opening ceremonies.
And a performance Sunday will honor the memory of Phil Antonucci, a musician and award-winning sound mixer who was deeply involved in musical events at Huntington High School, who died in August.
Among the many performers will be the Prospect Street Band, a folk progressive folk rock band, at noon Saturday; Easy Company, consisting of five Huntington natives with a blend of 1950s swing and modern rock, performing at 4 p.m. Saturday; master drummer Akiva the Believer at 1 p.m. Sunday; Youth Be Told, Sunday at 3:30 p.m. and Oyster Bay singer Charlie Dane Saturday at 2 p.m.
