This weekend marks the first week of ‘back-to-school’ for many families. There are many opportunities to get out, relax and enjoy local live entertainment right here in Huntington. Click on the links below for more information on each listing. As always, if you have a live entertainment event you’d like to see posted, let us know! Here are a few to start your weekend off on the right ‘note’:

September 9

, New Horizons String Orchestra, The public is invited to sit in and listen to rehearsals on Friday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.   

: Live music happy hour featuring Drama Kings, 4:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m.

The East Northport Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Festival opens today with amusement rides and games, live entertainment, a petting zoo, bicycle stunt shows, street performers and more, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

: The Huntington Historical Society hosts its 21st annual “Evening of Wine Under the Stars” honoring the family of Captain F. Rogers Ketcham, with wine-tasting, gourmet food and live music by Modern Age from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

: Christian recording artist Mitch McVicker in concert, 8 p.m.

Karaoke Fridays with Dix Hills resident DJ Patty, from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Six Gun Five at 10 p.m.

September 10

The East Northport Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Festival continues with amusement rides and games, live entertainment, a petting zoo, bicycle stunt shows, street performers and more, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Grasso’s: Ernie Byrd & Friends with Dave LaLama on piano and Noriko Ueda on bass at 7:30 p.m.

: Disco music and dancing at 10 p.m.

: Mark Phillip at 10 p.m.

: Brett Sherris’ Summer Camp series presents The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Live Shadowcast by the Unconventional Conventionalists. Starts at 11:30 p.m.

: Live music at 11:30 p.m.

September 11

The East Northport Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Festival continues with amusement rides and games, live entertainment, a petting zoo, bicycle stunt shows, street performers and more, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Jazz Brunch featuring bass/guitar duo, a la carte menu, and a “Build-your-own Bloody Mary Bar,” from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

: Jazz Brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Grasso’s: Joe Carter, Wayne Sabella and guest at 12 p.m.

: Special screening of “Rebirth,” 9/11 documentary by Jim Whitaker. All proceeds to benefit Project Rebirth. Begins at 1 p.m.

Northport ArtWalk: Join in a self guided walking tour featuring the artwork of local and emerging artists in Northport Village. Welcome booths at Caffe' Portofino and Copenhagen Bakery. Featuring live music at many locations throughout the Village from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
