It's a beautiful day out there today to enjoy and finish up any last-minute preparations before Irene arrives this weekend.

Unfortunately, many of the events below, especially those on Sunday, will likely be cancelled or postponed. Check before you head out and we will list any rescheduled events next week. August 26

: Live music happy hour featuring Acoustifunk, 4:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m.

Northport Arts Coalition: Happenings on Main Street presents Director’s Choice Night at the Northport Village Park Patio, 7 p.m.

: “Music Corner” featuring dinner, dancing and jazz music from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Caffe Portofino: “Poets in Port” evening featuring poet Ed Luhrs, open reading following. Begins at 7:30 p.m.

Grasso’s: Bryan Reeder Trio; piano, bass and drums at 7:30 p.m.

: Don't miss the classic musical, "Hairspray," based on the 1988 film by John Waters. Showtime at 8 p.m.

: Arena Players Repertory Theater production of William Shakespeare's "Much Ado about Nothing," outdoor performance beginning at 8 p.m.

: Don't miss the classic musical, "Hairspray," based on the 1988 film by John Waters. Showtimes at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.

: Margaritaville Saturdays featuring Young Rebel Goombas, sounds of Key West, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Grasso’s: Ernie Byrd & Friends at 7:30 p.m.

: Disco music and dancing at 10 p.m.

: Thompson Gunners at 10 p.m.

: Brett Sherris’ Summer Camp series concludes with the “7th Annual Pay to Get Out Horror Marathon” beginning at 11 p.m.

: Live music at 11 p.m.

August 28

: TD Bank Youth Theater Series production of  P.D. Eastman’s “Go, Dog, Go!” at 10:30 a.m.

: The Long Island Sound Festival featuring music by Cindy Lopez & Friends, Reckoning, Roast Beef Curtains, Fusion Collective, the Adam Gieckel Band and more. Runs from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. (cancelled)

: Jazz Brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Calypso Sundays Therapy Band, live reggae on the harbor, 4 p.m. to Sunset.

Grasso’s: Wayne Sabella Trio at 12 p.m.
