Talent Goes Head to Head at Show

Huntington Arts Council contest draws performers from around Long Island.

Long Island’s aspiring artists took the stage in front of a panel of celebrity judges Friday night at the .

Contestants from all across Long Island competed for the winning title.

The winner was Crystalyn Wynter from Rockville Centre. Eight-year-old Cassidy Page won for under 13. The audience for the event, sponsored by the , chose Salvadore Valentinetti from Holy Trinity. Emma Borrie won for "13+ rising star."

 News 12 reporter Judy Martin, a classically trained opera singer, hosted the event and performed. Guest judges included “Weather Girls” singer Martha Wash,WFUV personality John Platt, Newsday's Glenn Gamboa, Donna Drake from "Live it Up!" and Donna McKenna from Donna McKenna Casting. 

Among the prizes were a $500 cash award, an opening performance at the 46th Annual Huntington Summer Arts Festival and a $1,000 scholarship to .
