Patrick Dillon Ends Jeopardy! Run

Whitman grad makes it to semi-final round before elimination.

Patrick Dillon was knocked out of the teachers tournament Tuesday on the game show Jeopardy!

The 2000 Whitman grad made it to the semi-finals before losing to seventh-grade social studies teacher Becky Giardina from Martinez, Ga. The third contestant, Anne Baxter, a kindergarten French teacher from Ypsilanti, Mich., led through most of the game until Giardina captured the final round with a question about the 2012 Olympics.

Dillon teaches music at Munsey Park Elementary School in the Manhasset school district. He walked away from the tournament, which featured 15 teachers in competition, with $10,000 and a Classroom Jeopardy unit.

Tuesday's categories included science, flavors of the month, fashion, football terms, movies, and Independence National Historical Park.
