Jay Black to Kick Off Free Summer Concerts

Long Island Culture: Iconic rock legend begins summer-long series at Eisenhower Park.

Legendary singer Jay Black, whose iconic hits with Jay And The Americans, include "Cara Mia," "Come a Little Bit Closer" and "This Magic Moment," will kick off the summer concert lineup at Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater in Eisenhower Park on June 14.

The performance, like the rest all summer at the park, are free and mostly begin at 7 p.m and will include genres that range from disco to classical and oldies to musical theater.

An 'Enchanted Evening' Coming to Engeman

Northport's John W. Engeman Theater plans a special opening night of its summer production of "South Pacific."

Entitled: "An Enchanted Evening," on Thursday, May 23 includes a pre-show party starting at 6:30 p.m. with island-themed hot buffet food with the show to follow:
  • Cost: $75 per person includes, one premium ticket to see "South Pacific." Green Room lounge includes buffet, complimentary cocktail from 6:30-7 p.m. Show begins at 8.

Insights into Immigration at CAC

A community screening with a panel discussion of “The Other Side of Immigration," an intimate and powerful documentary about why so many Mexicans come to the U.S. and what happens to the families and communities they leave behind, will be co-presented by Long Island Jobs with Justice on Thursday, May 23 at 6 pm at Cinema Arts Centre, in Huntington.
